About Dr. Madelyn Evans

Dr. Madelyn Evans is the driving force behind Covalent Strategies. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University, where she studied Organometallic Synthesis and Catalysis with Professor Tobin Marks. After graduate school, she started her career as a researcher at ExxonMobil, developing novel catalysts for fuels hydroprocessing and polyethylene production. Madelyn also worked in process development, scaling up innovative biofuels processes in the context of existing refinery integration. She then pivoted to a position in corporate venture capital for Delek US, applying my passion for technology development to source and assess energy tech start-ups for equity investment. Madelyn also leveraged her understanding of technical feasibility and market dynamics to support corporate decarbonization strategy efforts. Most recently, she worked as a Senior Project Engineer at the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Program office, where she led technical project management throughout the loan lifecycle. As a member of the Carbon Management team, Madelyn focused on projects related to industrial decarbonization, clean fuels, and power transmission.
Madelyn loves to deep dive into new technologies and evaluate their potential to make an impact. She applies a fundamental understanding of chemistry to everything – where are bonds making and breaking. She would love to put my passion to work for you. Reach out to see how we can work together to advance your goals!
